Area Police
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then located numerous other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
A high-ranking political figure said the attack made him without words and had to be resolved quickly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
