RAF Typhoon FGR4s have joined forces with France's air force in a combined operation on an underground arms cache in Syrian territory operated by the IS group, according to the UK's MoD.
The facility, pinpointed through surveillance, was assessed as storing arms and explosives, the announcement noted, and was located in mountains just north of Palmyra in the heart of Syria.
"Our fighter planes used laser-guided Paveway IV weapons to target a number of access tunnels down to the facility... preliminary assessments suggest the strike was effective," officials stated.
There was no sign of any civilian casualties in the strike conducted Saturday night and every plane involved made a safe return, the MoD added.
The British jets were assisted by a Voyager tanker plane.
